GG1F46-4.0 1×0.56 F46-Insulated Stainless Steel Tube Armored Logging Cable

The GG1F46-4.0 1×0.56 is a single-core logging cable built with a stranded soft copper conductor, F46 insulation and two layers of 316L stainless steel tube protection. Its compact 4.0 mm nominal diameter makes it suitable for downhole logging systems where a small cable profile and mechanical protection are required.
The cable is specified for operation from -50°C to +232°C and has a rated tensile strength of 7 kN. The electrical specification includes a 300 VDC withstand voltage, insulation resistance of at least 500 MΩ·km at 20°C, DC resistance of no more than 33 Ω/km at 20°C, and capacitance of no more than 0.16 μF/km.

Technical Description

  • Detailed Product Introduction

  • Downhole logging cables have to carry electrical signals while being handled, deployed and retrieved in a demanding well environment. A compact cable construction can be useful where available space is limited, while the outer protection needs to support the mechanical requirements of the operation. The GG1F46-4.0 1×0.56 uses a stranded soft copper conductor at its center. The conductor specification is 7 × 0.32 mm. Around the conductor is a 0.60 mm F46 insulation layer, followed by two 316L stainless steel tube layers. The inner stainless steel tube has a specified wall thickness of 0.30 mm, and the outer tube has a specified wall thickness of 0.40 mm. This layered construction forms the cable's compact armored body. The finished cable has a nominal diameter of 4.0 mm ± 0.05 mm and a weight in air of 79 kg/km. The specified operating temperature range is -50°C to +232°C, while the specified tensile strength is 7 kN. For electrical performance, the cable is specified for a 300 VDC withstand voltage. At 20°C, insulation resistance is ≥500 MΩ·km and DC resistance is ≤33 Ω/km. The specified capacitance is ≤0.16 μF/km.

Key Features

  • Single-Core Construction
  • A single stranded copper conductor forms the electrical core, providing a straightforward signal and power path within the armored structure.
  • F46 Insulation
  • The conductor is surrounded by an F46 insulation layer with a specified thickness of 0.60 mm.
  • Dual 316L Stainless Steel Tube Layers
  • The cable uses an inner 316L stainless steel tube layer and an outer 316L stainless steel tube layer. The specified wall thicknesses are 0.30 mm and 0.40 mm respectively.
  • Compact 4.0 mm Diameter
  • The finished cable has a specified outer diameter of 4.0 mm ± 0.05 mm, keeping the overall profile compact for downhole deployment.
  • High-Temperature Specification
  • The stated cable temperature range is -50°C to +232°C.
  • 7 kN Tensile Strength
  • The specified tensile strength is 7 kN, providing the mechanical load capacity stated in the product specification.
  • Applications

  1. Downhole logging
  2. Wireline logging systems
  3. Downhole instrumentation
  4. Compact-diameter logging assemblies
Applications requiring stainless steel tube protection Actual application suitability should be confirmed against the well temperature, deployment load, cable length, tool configuration and other project-specific conditions.
