Technical Description

Structure Description

The Cable Protector is designed to protect downhole cables from abrasion, impact, pressure, and mechanical damage during oilfield logging and well intervention operations. It features a durable multi-layer structure to enhance cable service life and operational reliability. The structure includes:

1. Steel Wire / Reinforcement Layer

  • High-strength steel wire or reinforced metal components are integrated to improve mechanical strength and impact resistance.
  • The reinforcement structure helps protect the cable from crushing, bending, and external mechanical forces during installation and operation.

2. Conductor Protection (Optional)

  • The Cable Protector itself is mainly used as an external protective component and normally does not contain conductors.
  • For integrated cable protection designs, internal conductive elements can be customized to support power transmission or signal communication.

3. Insulation Layer (Optional)

  • When equipped with electrical components, high-temperature and oil-resistant insulation materials are applied.
  • The insulation layer provides electrical isolation and protects internal conductors from moisture, chemicals, and harsh environments.

4. Sealing Structure

  • A reliable sealing design prevents the penetration of water, oil, mud, and corrosive fluids.
  • The sealed structure improves protection performance and ensures stable operation in high-pressure downhole environments.

5. Outer Protective Sheath

  • The outer sheath is made of wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and high-strength materials.
  • It protects the cable from abrasion, friction, impact, and temperature changes during downhole deployment.
  • The smooth surface design reduces friction between the cable and well equipment.
